SASM2013 current stats

The 18th Biennial Conference of the South African Society of Microbiology (SASM), SASM2013, promises to be another successful and exciting conference with a scientific programme covering a diverse spectrum of microbiological topics. Here are some current stats and highlights:

 

  • More than 300 abstracts were submitted and reviewed
  • A scientific programme consisting of 16 oral sessions covering diverse topics in Environmental Microbiology, Industrial Microbiology, Food Microbiology, Medical Microbiology, Virology, Molecular Biology and Omics. There will also be two breakaway sessions, a MicroEdu workshop (facilitated by Dr. HY Chenia) and a Self-Mentoring workshop (facilitated by Dr CT Bull).
  • There will be 112 speakers and 9 keynote speakers from South Africa, Africa and the rest of the World
  • So far 344 delegates will be attending the conference to be held at Forever Resorts Warmbaths, Bela-Bela between 24 and 27 November 2013
  • The conference is made possible by 14 (and counting) generous sponsors
