Undergraduate Student (R2000)
Criteria: A student that has excelled in his/her respective undergraduate courses.
Requirements: SASM membership certificate, CV, academic record, Letter of motivation by HoS / HoD

Honours Student (R3000)
Criteria: A student that has excelled in his/her coursework and dissertation.
Requirements: SASM membership certificate, CV, academic record, Letter of motivation by HoS / HoD

Masters Student (R4000)
Criteria: Highest mark in Masters Dissertation (Masters by research)
National and international conference presentations
Publication in peer-reviewed journals
Requirements: SASM membership certificate, CV, academic proof, Letter of motivation by HoS / HoD

Doctoral Student (R5000)
Criteria: Completion or in the process of completion of doctorate
National and international conference presentations
Publication in peer-reviewed journals
Requirements: SASM membership certificate, CV, academic proof, Letter of motivation by HoS / HoD

From all submitted nominations that meet all the above requirements, a panel of three reviewers will choose one student in each category who will be presented with an award at the GALA Dinner of SASM2016.
