The American Society for Microbiology (ASM) invites you to submit an application to become the ASM Young Ambassador to South Africa. This highly prestigious, volunteer position will play a key role in ASM's efforts to address global challenges through science and engage early career scientists worldwide.

Activities:

• Work with other ASM Young Ambassadors to advance ASM's mission of knowledge sharing for the advancement of science and improvement of the world we share!
• Promote networking and collaboration globally and within South Africa
• Advance collaboration between ASM and local universities
• Leverage ASM resources to meet the needs of young microbiologists in South Africa
• Develop novel approaches to advancing the careers and science of your peers

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be a current ASM member. To renew your ASM membership, click here.
• Must be a current student, PhD candidate or post-doc in a microbiology-related field
• Or, have obtained an advanced degree within the past 5 years
• Demonstrated leadership in your scientific or academic community
