BIO26 Student Awards 

Deadline: 31 December 2025

In preparation for BIO26, please nominate one student in your Department/School in each of the following categories:

Undergraduate Student 

Criteria             : A student who excelled in their respective undergraduate courses and is currently enrolled in a Honours program in South Africa

Requirements : SASM membership certificate, CV, academic record, Letter of motivation by HoS / HoD

Honours Student 

Criteria             : A student that has excelled in their coursework and dissertation.

Requirements : SASM membership certificate, CV, academic record, Letter of motivation by HoS / HoD

Masters Student

Criteria             : Highest mark in Masters Dissertation (Masters by research)

                            National conference presentations

                            Publication in peer-reviewed journals

Requirements :  SASM membership certificate, CV, academic record Letter of motivation by HoS / HoD

Doctoral Student

Criteria             : Completion or in the process of completion of doctorate

                            National and/or international conference presentations

                            Publication in peer-reviewed journals

Requirements : SASM membership certificate, CV, academic record Letter of motivation by HoS / HoD

From all submitted nominations that meet all the above requirements, a panel of three reviewers will choose one student in each category who will be presented with an award at the GALA Dinner of BIO26
